Decoupling

Decoupling

Explosion decoupling is an indispensable protective measure because a localized explosion in a filter or silo must absolutely be prevented from spreading through the conveyor and piping systems. In general, the decoupling systems must be comprised of largely autonomous protective systems and must be tested (by initiating an explosion) and certified by a Notified Body.

Non-return flaps:

Non-return flaps are generally installed in the crude-gas line upstream of the filter inflow. They are open during normal operation, but if an explosion occurs in the filter the non-return flap closes the crude gas line as a result of the explosion pressure, thereby preventing the explosion from spreading towards the extraction point.
