Successful Regional Collaboration

Senftenbacher, a local brick manufacturer and Scheuch, an air pollution control technology company are separated by just six kilometers (about 4 miles) and have had a successful partnership for many years. Recently, the brick manufacturer reached out to Scheuch for help to make production more environmentally friendly and increase efficiency.

“By expanding the brick kiln, we are reducing the energy required for the heating and cooling phases and thus achieving more environmentally friendly production,“ Peter Flotzinger, Managing Director of Senftenbach says.  „With the ventilation technology components from Scheuch, we are able to achieve even more sustainable brick production than has been the case to date.“

Handling Hot Temperatures
Scheuch designed the hot gas fan for Senftenbacher. “The high temperatures over 1000^oC (1832^oF) always pose a particular challenge in the choice of construction materials,“ says Leonhard Zeilinger, Head of Sales at Scheuch COMPONENTS. „This is why we design fan impellers without a required housing. They are frequently used in air circulation systems in heat treatment furnaces for bricks, metals and glass.” In addition to hot gas fans, Scheuch also supplied and assembled pipe parts, a chimney with a cooling air fan and the associated steel structure for the brick manufacturer.

A successful project which shows that the regional industry is working together for a better environment.
