THE KIDS TAKE OVERThis year, like every year, the Scheuch headquarters in Aurolzmünster, Austria played host to 24 energetic children of staff members. The idea behind the two-weeks of holiday activity for children directly at the company location is to give working parents a break and provide their children with an unforgettable experience. An extensive program, the ideal supervision from the child care providers and the Scheuch project team ensured that the children would never have to endure even a moment of boredom.
“The children had a blast. Our son would have loved to stay longer, but you always have to stop right when the fun is at its peak,” says one thrilled Scheuch employee.

This year, there was a clear focus on the concepts of nature, environmental protection and sustainability. For example, activities involved crafting an insect hotel, collecting rubbish and visiting a waste management centre.
“It is important to us that we raise the children’s awareness of important topics, but we also want to learn their opinions. It goes without saying that fun, entertainment and insight into everyday life at the company were the main ideas,” says Martina Medwed (Human Resources).
In the training workshops and production facility, the children got the chance to show off their handicraft abilities. Of course, there were also plenty of opportunities for outdoor activity. Building a dam and splashing around in the stream really made the time fly by.
