Fundraiser for children in need
The apprentices at Scheuch hosted their annual Christmas fundraiser in Aurolzmünster (Scheuch headquarters) on December 19th. This year’s theme was “Together We Can Achieve More”.
As part of the apprentice laser training they design and make usable goods (for example, cell phone holders, candelabras) that are made available to Scheuch employees who then donate in exchange for selected items.
“The initiative came from the apprentices themselves,” says Bernhard Urwanisch, Apprentice Manager. “It’s nice to see that young people are committed to social activities.” The proceeds go to the non-profit association Rieder Children & Youth Protection House (RIKI). Scheuch management is pleased about the successful fundraising campaign. The support from Kulinario (Scheuch cafeteria provider) and the Ried brewery who provided the mulled wine helped Scheuch to double the amount raised last year from $2618 (2,346 euros) to $5245 (4,700 euros).
“Social responsibility is firmly rooted in our values,” says Stefan Scheuch. “It is fantastic to see the energetic teamwork within and outside the company since it is so important to our young Scheuch employees. That makes me very proud.”
