The latest version of Scheuch's SAP 90 system is designed for press extraction purposes. It uses a process developed in-house that has proven successful in 40 plants operating in the international chipboard, MDF and OSB industry.
The SAP press extraction system uses a wet separation process. Specially designed hoods ensure that exhaust air can be collected with ease. The injection of circulated water directly at the extraction point – a process known as pre-wetting – keeps caking in the pipework to a minimum and ensures that the plant stays clean. Wet scrubbers separate solids such as paraffin and dust in the pipework. Meanwhile, a specially designed separator performs efficient removal of droplets of liquid and solids that have been carried along into the system, and specifically developed units perform solids separation and discharge – thus purifying the process water. This technologically advanced plant concept was planned and implemented as a joint effort in record time. Areas that are typically problematic in OSB facilities were considered as early as the design and conceptual stage, specific EGGER standards were adhered to, and existing potential for using energy was tapped into as effectively as possible using tailored energy-saving solutions.
