Energy-efficient dedusting technology for Signify (Pila, PL)

Signify, with its headquarters in Eindhoven (NL) is a world-leading supplier or lighting for commercial customers and private households. Thanks to its energy-efficient lighting products, systems and services, the company is setting the standards when it comes to outstanding light quality. Scheuch designed a tailor-made concept for efficient dedusting technology with innovative heat recovery for Signify at the Pila location in Poland.
Customer wish
Dust occurs when producing glass for manufacturing lighting. Scheuch was requested to design a solution for dedusting the dusts that occur during the melting procedure for the glass. Complying with specific clean gas limit values was required here. Furthermore, there was a requirement for a heat recovery system in order to effectively recover the heat energy that is produced and to use this to operate the heating system in the production factory.
The SCHEUCH solution
Our tailor-made solution comprised developing and implementing a complete glass trough dedusting system with a heat recovery system as a turnkey solution. The system was designed so that it did not just meet the highest environmental requirements but also to be extremely easy to maintain and energy efficient.
Easy to maintain and sustainable
Minimised downtimes: the system requires only 1-2 bypass uses per year and the heat exchanger must be cleaned once per year, which results in minimal downtimes. Furthermore, the special design of the SCHEUCH electrostatic precipitator allows for particularly easy and convenient system maintenance.
Heat recovery: thanks to the heat recovery system, an impressive 1.5 MW of energy can be recovered, which is used to operate the heating system in the production factory.
Long-term planning and redundancy: the system is designed for fault-free operation over many years. By installing two ID fans, high availability and fault-free operation are ensured.
The successful implementation of this project not only enabled Signify to reduce its environmental impact but also to reduce costs significantly thanks to a more energy-efficient operating method. The ease of maintenance also ensures smooth operation and minimal downtimes in the Signify production factory in Pila.
