Gas conditioning tower
When performing exhaust gas cleaning in the cement and other industries, the exhaust gases need to be cooled down prior to starting the cleaning process. Building on many years of process technology expertise, Scheuch gas-conditioning towers provide exceptional efficiency thanks to their optimal instrument-based design and layout combined with an adapted control concept.
Gas cooling involves cooling exhaust gas by injecting very fine water droplets into the hot stream of exhaust gas, whereby the evaporation process withdraws heat and achieves the desired temperature for the subsequent exhaust-gas cleaning.
As well as a defined control concept, it is crucial for operational safety that the water droplets are uniformly atomized and flow evenly through the evaporation section. Two-component compressed-air nozzles or one-component high-pressure nozzles are used in order to efficiently disperse the cooling water. The preferred direction for exhaust gas flow is vertical. Depending on the application or planning requirements, the exhaust gas flows from the top down or from the bottom up.
