Explosion suppression devices
A smart pressure and infrared system detects an incipient explosion inside a container and will very rapidly spray a suitable extinguishing agent into the affected container. This stops the explosion before it develops further. The inlet and discharge pipes are also decoupled using an extinguishing agent barrier.
Advantages:
• No materials discharged into the external area
• Permitted for toxic dust
• Permitted for indoor installation
Disadvantages
• Higher container resistance is required
• Expensive
• Higher maintenance costs
