Scheuch in Östersund
Innovation, Sustainability and Efficient Flue Gas Cleaning
It is not the big headlines but sustainable technologies that change the world. In Östersund, near the well-known ski resort Åre, a project by Scheuch together with Sumitomo SHI FW Energia Oy from Finland demonstrates how modern filter technology and climate protection can go hand in hand.
Green partnership with Jämtkraft
For the public energy company Jämtkraft, a new power plant was implemented that not only meets the strict Swedish and EU emission standards but also sets pioneering benchmarks. The goal: sustainable energy supply for the benefit of future generations.
State-of-the-art filter technology
At the heart of the project is a bag filter with sorbent dosing system from Scheuch. This system efficiently reduces dioxins, NOx and SOx. A special challenge was the integration of the filter directly onto the electrical building – a space-saving and technically advanced solution.
Efficiency through innovative flue gas treatment
In flue gas cleaning, conventional preheating of the SCR system (Selective Catalytic Reduction) with natural gas was deliberately avoided. This lowers operating costs while protecting the environment – a clear plus in terms of efficiency and sustainability.
A project with a unique location
In addition to the technological success, the project impresses with its location: in the middle of northern Sweden’s stunning nature, close to Åre, a venue of the FIS Alpine World Championships.
Sustainable partnership for the future
The collaboration between Scheuch and Sumitomo SHI FW Energia Oy in Östersund clearly shows how environmental protection, efficiency and innovation can be combined. After four joint projects, one thing is clear: this partnership stands for top quality and sustainable energy solutions worldwide.
